an idea...

We really should re-instate the Fairness Doctrine, with the addition that if you are doing broadcast, cable, internet or radio "news", any revenue generated from that program CANNOT be counted as corporate or shareholder profit, it MUST either be put back into that newscast to make it better, or given to an approved charity. The Public accolades for doing Journalism well should be it's own reward for doing such a form of Public Service, and this is an even better idea if your position is that the Mainstream Media does in fact, posses a distinct Liberal Bias, and that that bias should be, in some form, legally checked.

Otherwise, you have to air a disclaimer before and after every commercial break that SAYS you are not doing actual news, that you are doing it to make a profit, and that you could care less whether or not people actually learn FACTS when they tune in. The only people who would have a problem with this, are the ones who are in the BUSINESS of passing off propaganda as Legitimate Journalism, and
since it follows that the closer the knife is the louder the real pigs will scream, let Rush, Glenn, Billo, Sean and all the rest scream their bloody fool heads off and prove me right.
