here we go. we have a local 'conservative' group that claims it was targeted by IRS

bet this is going on in every city across the nation...they are considering suing the IRS

Local group says it was IRS target

The leader of a Franklin-based conservative group says his organization is among the ones the Internal Revenue Service targeted for political reasons when he applied for tax-exempt status more than two years ago.

Kevin Kookogey, founder and president of Linchpins of Liberty, said the IRS made “ultraburdensome” requests for information about his donors, his political views and the content of his talks to students after he submitted the application in January 2011. He said he lost a $30,000 grant from an organization that couldn’t understand the holdup but needed to move on.

“I couldn’t even put together a board” of directors, Kookogey said.

The IRS apologized Friday for “inappropriate” targeting of conservative political groups, including many with the words “tea party” or “patriot” in their names. On Monday President Barack Obama called the IRS’s conduct “outrageous.”

Isn't that what they always said to those who complained when Dumbya was wiretapping without a warrant?

Why is the "IRS scandal" a scandal? Other than giving the GOP reprobates more circle jerk material, the bottom line is that the IRS is ABSOLUTELY JUSTIFIED in making groups that have the audacity at trying to advance their oppressive, republican agenda without the legitimate necessity of paying taxes on it. What GALL!

I see absolutely NOTHING wrong with going after conservative groups trying to sneak in on a tax-free ride. If we progressives want to create our own PACS, we need to pay our taxes, and we do willingly and gladly. Why should a party that advocates so many tenets that destroy humanity that not only should they be denied tax exempt status, their organization needs to be taken down under existing RICO statutes?

Geez, gang, this is a NO-BRAINER!! The agents who are ensuring that the laws are followed should be CELEBRATED, and the ONLY issue involved is why the GOP and the Tea Party is trying to game the system??
