The "I" word...

Impeachment.

That will be the cry of the right-wingers today. They have never really cared for Barack Obama anyway. All they need is an excuse, valid or not.

Now the President has the IRS and the AP mess to deal with, along with the hullabaloo about Benghazi thrown in for good measure.

This is a time of crisis.

The President will have to address these problems up front. Eric Holder, the longtime incompetent Attorney-General, will probably submit his resignation over the AP mess. The IRS story goes back to the time of Timothy Geithner at Treasury. This was before Jack Lew. I think this story will probably die on the vine because the IRS leadership leans Republican and who knows who gave the orders to audit the Tea Party groups? After all, the previous IRS Commissioner was an appointee of Geoge W Bush.

Benghazi will be put on the back burner. It was an issue created for political purposes anyway. It has fired up the Republican base, which is its intent all along, in my opinion.

Politics is a blood sport. The Republicans smell the blood in the water. The President would be wise to gather his friends around him. The swords are drawn.

"Irrational" - as in hatred for the president.

Because, in large degree, of the "R" word. Racism.

My disgust in American politics is at an all time high. And that's saying something....

It will be a knock down, drag out political knife fight, and will distract from all other issues.

It will be similar to the anti-Obamacare rallies before the elections of 2010. It could have the impact of getting huge numbers of Republicans to the polls.

There are people in this country who want a big confrontation between liberals and conservatives. They're losing on a number of issues, especially social issues. Their numbers are dwindling in proportion to the overall population. It's now or never for them.
