They want a repeat of 2010, when the Tea Party organized and came out in droves to win back the Congress in a landslide victory. This time, they want the Senate in 2014 and the White House in 2016. But they have to find a way to fire them up. Make them believe that Obama is the devil. That he has all these scandals around him. Much of this entire passion play is directed toward the Tea Party.
Initially, it was Benghazi that was going to get them fired up but then along came the IRS scandal and all the discrimination against the Tea Party Patriots. Benghazi will have to go on the back burner for a while. From some reports, the Republicans are not real crazy about following the AP story. They encouraged it and would have done the same. If the Democrats wanted to go on the offensive, they would start today with a counter movement to appeal to African-American and Hispanic voters with the same goal in mind. If Republicans are able to get these "scandals" to stick and millions of Tea Partiers are motivated to go to the polls as they did in 2010, Democrats will need a strong opposing strategy...

(9,033 posts)I agree, go on the offensive. But I think the benghazibenghazibenghazi mantra is more about Hillary than President Obama (his "involvement" is just gravy).
