'buycott' koch bros, monsanto and other industries products lining supermarket shelves

http://www.nationofchange.org/buycott-koch-brothers-monsanto-and-other-industries-products-lining-supermarket-shelves-1368628289

The guessing game is over. No longer will consumers wonder what companies are behind the millions of products that fill supermarket shelves because there’s an app for that.

Buycott, now available on Apple and Android platforms, is a tool that allows consumers to organize their spending depending on personal values.

The app helps consumers determine whether their spending is funding causes or campaigns that they either support or oppose. Buycott offers consumers the opportunity to align their principals and spending by avoiding products made by controversial big businesses such as Koch Industries, Monsanto and George Soros and, instead, buying products to help support the companies behind initiatives like local and sustainable food.

Some of Buycott’s top trending campaigns since the app’s launch earlier this month include Avoid Koch Industries, Demand GMO Labeling and Local and Sustainable Food Initiative.

What if his brand of salsa is the best?

No wait I'm thinking of Paul Newman.

5. Then supply lists of what are union made and what are not.

Eg, which Monsanto products are union made? And which of them are not harmful to people and other living things?

6. Are you asking me to do so, or encouraging the app designers to incorporate this?

It's always handy to know what products are union-made. Different people have different priorities for what they want to purchase. Some focus on a company's environmental stewardship. Others on how the workers control their own experience. When it comes to Koch properties especially, it's important to remember that many of the products are union-made.

8. I was suggesting that anyone who has the information share it.

Neither the Koch Bros nor Monsanto are exactly Union friendly or employee friendly, quite the opposite as we know. The Koch Bros are Union busters, so I am interested to know which products they make that are made by Union workers. Also that would apply only to this country or other First World countries, not Third World countries where these mega Corps exploit workers.

My priorities are to end the exploitation of workers worldwide, and to stop the influence of these Corps on our Government, to stop the Union Busting activities of these Corps, and not to support them in any way.

It IS news to me that the Koch Bros and Monsanto support Unions, which is why I asked for information,

"support unions." I find it a little funny that you would think the Koch Brothers "support unions."

Some union-made Koch products include a lot of brands under the Georgia-Pacific umbrella, such as Brawny, Sparkle and Mardi Gras paper towels; Quilted Northern, Angel Soft and MD toilet paper; and Vanity Fair, Zee, Brawny and Mardi Gras napkins; and house labels for places like Target.

I don't have the time to go through every plant for every product -- such as their residential and commercial construction products, for example. Many of them are produced by union workers. If people have questions about specifics it's best to research that product.

11. Um, you need to back up here. YOU are the one who claimed the Koch brothers and Monsanto

should not be boycotted because they support Unions. I questioned your contention and asked for information, which I still am not getting.

No where did I ever claim anything but the truth about the Koch Bros. and Monsanto, which is THEY ARE ANTI-UNION and SHOULD be boycotted, anything they produce should be boycotted. Then YOU dropped in to try to discourage this campaign by claiming that the Kochs and Monsanto suddenly became union supporters and we should not be boycotting them.

Now you try to twist MY position on these criminal organizations.

I asked you to share what information you had, instead you made some false statements about my position on these corporations.

I'm still waiting for you to share your information which you claim should deter boycotts. Frankly I intend to boycott anything that emanates from those criminals and to encourage everyone I know to do so. They are anti-labor, anti-union, criminal organizations and money is the only way to get to them.

Now, once again, since you are trying to discourage people from boycotting these corps, either provide the info you claim to have or I will simply ignore your attempts to discourage these boycotts.

It'd be hilarious if it weren't so very wrong.

What I actually said was
Don't forget that many of those products are union-made.

Nothing about Koch or Monsanto offering unions "support." Nothing about saying these companies "should not be boycotted." Good God, warm up a little bit before you take a leap like that next time, will you? I then provided several common brand names of products, so people can make an informed choice.

A thing about boycotts: union members and supporters tend to be careful about such things, and don't call for them often, especially if it's at the company level such as this one and not targeting a specific product, plant or process. Also, choosing to buy another union-made product over these union-made products is not a "boycott." It's OK -- you can still buy union-made products without buying these particular union-made products. You just have to do your research.

It's possible to oppose unions as a corporate policy and still be stuck with them on your shop floors because of takeovers, organizing campaigns, the will of the people or simply it's been there a long time and the relationship is generally good. Stop lying about me saying that Koch and Monsanto are "union supporters" and we "should not be boycotting them." Because that's straight-up bullshit that I never said.

Knock yourself out with your boycott. More power to you. I just want people to be aware that by following this boycott, they are boycotting union-made products. That's important to know and understand, and something I will not do.

and I have it on my phone, which is a Samsung that is only a few months old. App consistently crashes - when it does work, it's great. I started scanning the products in my cabinets, and the info it gives you about the products is very detailed. Perhaps it's my phone, but I don't think so. I hope they get the bugs worked out -
