Your statement that it is a 'thankless' job is absurd, it is highly compensated and hugely beneficial to those who leave that office and you know that. To claim that anyone doing it will step on toes so toe stepping should not matter is something one could say of Ashcroft as well, or any of them. Got to step on toes, laws, election results, that sort of thing. Part of the job.
Holder is the face of what is wrong with America, kissing Wall St ass, getting into pissing matches with the will of the people, disregarding law which is legitimate for the same damn reason his office is legitimate because the People say so.
He should not expect defense from people he has spent years attacking. I'll never forget some of the fetid language he used by choice when defending DOMA for so many years. He's a bigoted twit. And bigoted twits are a thing no longer needed in society.

It's someone hoping the GOP does it because it would spell political disaster for them later.

Doesn't exactly back up the OP's suggestion that demands for impeachment were rampant around here, or even that they existed at all.

47. Yeah, all the alleged scandals are ginned up garbage . . .
Fri May 17, 2013, 04:34 PM
May 2013

. . . and just part of the repugs plan to bog down the administration with these phoney allegations.

There are at least 3 benefits for them in doing this:

1. The Administration can't get its policies implemented while having to defend against alleged "scandals"

2. The "scandals" take attention away from repugs obstructionism in blocking jobs bills and fixes to help the economy like infrastructure funding bills.

3. They figure the "scandals" can be kept going long enough for the mid-term elections and will hurt Hillary and the Dems in 2016 — especially Benghazi.

There are probably others I've missed but it seems the repugs have developed a strategy against re-elected Dem presidents. Just gin up a scandal and milk it for as long and publically as possible. It worked against Bill Clinton.

Obama's imminently impending impeachment never happened, here are a few here. And I'll just close my eyes and pretend that it is a coincidence of the HIGHEST order that the ones who "never saw nuthin!1 Seriesly!" usually tend to be the heaviest criticizers of both men here:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/10022828583

http://www.democraticunderground.com/10022652741

http://election.democraticunderground.com/10022847282

http://www.democraticunderground.com/1251304649

http://www.democraticunderground.com/1251305057

http://www.democraticunderground.com/1251305056

And as these are the results of a less than one minute search, I'm sure that I've left a ton of others out.

Now some of these really are benign. They are just posts saying that it's apparent that the GOP is going to try to impeach the president. And there are some that seem to be genuinely concerned about what would happen if that happened.

But anyone acting as if these types of posts have not littered this forum over the last week/month since all of this foolishness started is fooling no one. Perhaps the OP didn't actually click into some of the titles and just saw "impeachment" and put them in all in the same category. But these have been all over DU for a while. I don't know why anyone would bother trying to pretend otherwise.

If it walks like a duck

it is a duck

even if in so many words it doesn't say it is a duck

it is a duck

and it gets tiring.

REASON FOR ALERT:

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate. (See Community Standards.)

ALERTER'S COMMENTS:

Posters demands, "Edit your lying title! I did not see any!" when there's such a title not threads below this one, link: http://www.democraticunderground.com/10022858591
There's no need for such rudeness in an otherwise cheerful thread, or anywhere on DU.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Fri May 17, 2013, 02:25 PM, and the Jury voted 1-5 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: Seems a reasonable request. Leave the post!
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: No explanation given
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT and said: Is this a good place to post that I have yet to see "Logical" live up to their moniker?
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: No explanation given
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: The only thread cited is an ironic one noting impeachment would be disastrous for the Repubs. The Op keeps getting asked for citations to back up his lie, but he never gives one. Hence lie, hence leave alone.
