SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KCRA) —A conservative group is calling for a statewide boycott of Harvey Milk Day and urging parents to keep their kids home on May 22, the day honoring the slain gay rights leader.


KCRA 3 has confirmed SaveCalifornia.com has purchased air time to launch radio ads this week in Sacramento and Los Angeles.

It's a message generating plenty of emotion and reactions in both the gay and straight communities.

"Harvey Milk was a sexual anarchist," said Randy Thomasson, president of SaveCalifornia.com, at the state Capitol on Friday.
