Student Compares Toilet Water To Ice At Fast Food Joints, With Disturbing Results

A Florida student found that the ice at fast food restaurants is actually dirtier than the toilet water at the same establishment.

The student, 12-year-old Jasmine Roberts, hypothesized that the ice at fast food joints was probably dirtier than the toilets.
So she went to five fast food restaurants and collected samples.

She ordered cups of ice and put them in sterile beakers. She also went into bathrooms, flushed the toilet once, and collected a sample.

Out of consideration to others, I won't even mention what I found in the ice machine at a motel once. Suffice to say, that, after all these years, I still avoid accessible bins of ice cubes like the plague.

not this experiment again. The student didn't "hypothesize;" she copied an oft-repeated experiment.

#1---water is constantly moving through toilets, unlike ice machines, where it stagnates. Which is why our ancestors rarely drank from stagnant pools, preferring running water (streams, rivers, brooks)

#2--toilets are cleaned more often than ice machines. Actually, they're easier to clean.
