Kinda poor turnout for Mem Day parade

I know it's rainy, but as I sit here I see huge gaping holes
among the spectators. Waiting for the flyover to officially
start it.

How has turnout for your local parades been?

8. We always have our parade a weekend early

While the college kids are still in town and to get some of the
out of the area units and special groups to march in the parade.
So the timing isn't unusual for us. We do have someone newer
organizing the parade, and it hasn't been running as smoothly
Hoping that's just some growing pains and getting used to new
people in charge.

Our University graduation and move out weekend is always
on Memorial Day weekend. A good time to stay out of Newark, DE,
unless you like traffic jams.

They're probably wondering why you're sitting beside the road cheering them on.

4. Since Memorial Day is a week from tomorrow, May 27, not sure what your parade is for.

If it's supposed to be a Memorial Day parade, maybe the fact that it's 8 days before Memorial Day explains the poor turnout.
