Let Blind, Deaf Dog Back into Dog Park! (E-action)

From E-mail

http://www.thepetitionsite.com/234/183/724/blind-deaf-dog-kicked-out-of-dog-park/?z00m=20559706

Billy the dog doesn't play rough. He's older, blind, and deaf, which means that dogs his size tend to bully and scare him. So for several years, his owner has been taking him to the "small or timid dog" section of the local dog park.

Last week, though, a park ranger told Billy's owner that Billy had to play with the big dogs or get out. He said that Billy's section of the park was for small dogs only, and that it didn't matter that Billy's disability meant that he couldn't protect himself if any dogs his own size decided to get rowdy.

Billy was never any trouble to the dogs in the park. To a dog that is deaf or blind, changing things to them is like changing their entire world.

Ask the Santa Barbara County Parks Office to let Billy and his owner back into the part of the park where he felt and was safe!

Thank you for taking action,

Kathleen

Santa Barbara?

Really? Are things so scary there, county parks people?

Should we move your sorry asses to Fresno for a few months so you can find out what regular people live in?

Can't the ranger see what's going on?

Btw, Airedales are awesome. Tons of heart and class.
Hope Billy will be able to continue to play with his doggie friends. He's been going there for years.

It's all about power - even if it's a miniscule amount of it. 'Boss of the Dog Park'...impressive, is it not?

I tried to take a short-cut thru one to get to the Big Dog area and they wouldnt let me even though he was on a short leash and it wouldve taken 30 seconds. They gave me hell,....... even though I had a couple small dogs too! My small dogs play in the big dog area but big dogs scare a lot of small dogs but it is understandable as one bite from a big dog and theyre dead.

sounds like a new park ranger in love with his "authority" and "power", who should probably find a new job.

What is wrong with people!!!!!!!!!

And Billy is brave if he wants to be with the little dogs. They are mean and often try to attack my older husky on walks. Go Billy!
