That doesn't sound like a good thing.
We've had a few t-storm warnings this afternoon, have taken cover once already for tornadoes and are now under multiple flood warnings. This is going to be the start of a bad night.
We were just talking about how it was a late storm season at work last week. One person said they were worried we'd get a repeat of May 2003 while I said I was more worried about 1993/1995. Please, let's all hope it's not a combo of the two!
In addition at 10:05 pm-NOAA facebook page states that it's still down. Link is included (turns out it's not the only one that has had problems tonight!)

(38,958 posts)can I send you any information?
We'll be fine over here. I still have the television and such.
I'm more worried about the people out in the county who depend on their weather radios for updates and now can't get them. KMBC also reported that the transmitter in Henry Co is down. (We get our info from that transmitter for some reason.)

(38,958 posts)from the radar. I think it could be an "interesting" evening. There were apparently very high winds in South St. Louis City overnight last night. A co-worker told me she thought her roof was coming off and I noted a significant numbers of tree branches as I was driving into work this morning.

(29,669 posts)I also have a leak in my kid's bedroom from last night's rains. She'll be sleeping with me tonight and possibly longer since it takes forever for the landlord to fix anything here.
Good luck to you. Sedalia is badly flooded, according to local reports.

(29,669 posts)The posters here who know me can tell you that I'm in a funky area. Our weather coverage overlaps from the KC area, with the central part of the state, overlaps into the lake and a bit from the SW part of the state. It's just a funky, funky area that has weather coming from all of those areas, often at once.
The transmitter down is in Henry County, which is a big lake area. Unfortunately, it's also where all of our weather radio updates originate for my county.

Stay safe.

(29,669 posts)We live in a trailer right now and have a bug-out bag next to the front door, along with our shoes and some sweats. We know where to go, just in case.

(29,669 posts)I really think this year will be a nasty flood year for Missouri. It's overdue, after the years of drought. And all the drought means that the ground won't be able to hold all that much rain, which will make the flooding even worse.
