Documenting Dystopia: Non-Profit establishing a Global Public Surveillance Camera Directory

http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/documenting-dystopia

Documenting Dystopia was born out of a dire and obvious need for government transparency, especially involving the surveillance of lawful citizens.

In August 2012, the story of an orwellian surveillance software known as Trapwire, began to make waves across independant media, thanks the "GI FILES" from Wikileaks.

Out of disgust with the increasingly powerful surveillance state, that in many cases seems intent to silence free speech demonstrators, I created a collaborative google map called #TrackingTrapwire, with the intention of locating and exposing the location of the surveillance systems.

Within less than a month we had received over a hundred thousand hits to the map.
