To me, right now is not the time for political finger pointing, or saying "well they voted so and so. And so and so voted...". To say such things as that at this time of crises is cruel. Enough time to point fingers later.
This is time to roll sleeves up and give blood. To get donations of much needed goods.

(14,120 posts)Keeping that supply up is important. The nightmare is that the disaster depletes the supply and another comes on the heels.
Tornado and Hurricane season is just getting hot.

We need to be calling House and Senate members and tell them NO cuts to fund the disaster relief.
Folks can walk and chew gum at the same time.
I live in Houston, they don't want my blankets, water, clothes. Sending money to the folks that provide the blankets, water, etc is one of the best options unless you live close by to the affected area.
Edited to fix typo.

(18,585 posts)Taking a load of supplies that way.
Like most of my friends who have family in the area, the GOP and what the house or senate might or might not do has FUCK-ALL importance in their minds.

(19,926 posts)As Tx4Obama said, people can walk and chew gum at the same time. Nothing wrong with calling and trying to help, why shut it down? Would you rather no calls are made and then have some stupid shit go down? Might as well try to help, that's all Tx4Obama was trying to do. And it's true, that aid organizations would rather people donate money and they can spend it as needed. Heard a lot about that during Hurricane Sandy.
I don't understand being against that.

I really hope people don't chew guns, but I wouldn't be surprised.

(18,541 posts)Relief would be a relief, but it would be hysterical watching the MIC scramble for funds and fight each other afterward.
