My thoughts and prayers are with those in Oklahoma affected by the tragic tornado outbreak.

Comments:

Bruce Curtis Fleming You are simply just a bad person. I don't believe your dumb. What I think you are is much worse.... I believe you are smart and know how to manipulate people to vote for you. You use fear and key words that you know will get people fired up just so that they vote for you. I hope everyone in that town finds out exactly what kind of person you are and democracy can put and end to the fear you instill unto the people... Your a sick man to even post that comment and remember that your God supposedly watches all.

Gary Cook You were elected by the same people who desperately need your help right now. Real Americans don't see red and blue states when disasters strike. We only see the United States!

You are being tested right now and you are failing miserably as a senator and a human being. Fucking piece of garbage!

Travis Pütz You're a despicable human being. Insisting on spending cuts BEFORE any relief?

To hell with you sir, and enjoy the weather!

Candace Baitz You may as well been with the looters last night digging through the rubble of what remains of people's lives. All in the name of your personal gain while parents look for their missing children. We are ashamed and I will make sure everyone I know remembers this in the next coming election. Or better yet we could cut some funding real quick with your job and your pension!

Neil Blaisdell Your thoughts and prayers are worthless.

Mike Wilson You are quite literally threatening the well being of American lives by playing politics. Anyone who is threatening American lives should be considered a terrorist and an enemy to the American people. You are the enemy. Americans will not stand for this. You disgust us all. Also, go to hell asshole.

Jamie Lynn You are a pathetic excuse for a Christian, let alone a human being. How could you possibly block relief for people who so desperately need it. Of course, with your cushy senate salary and pension that you and your colleagues have continued to increase for yourselves (must be nice to give yourselves raises when the rest of the country is in the toilet), YOU would have the means to rebuild if this happened to you. Go jump off a damned bridge. You disgust me.

Sherri Serbin You say you are a 'Christian' and believe in the 'sanctity of human life'? Would Jesus bargain before he helped people? Would he put budgets over human life and suffering? Money over people? What if those children were your grandchildren and your house and your life were destroyed? Would you say, "don't worry about us. Balance the budget first" have you no compassion, sir?

Even if all these messages were from GOP supporters, their outrage is mainly based on the fact that suddenly, they are holding the sticky end of a stick. The voting public has a notoriously bad memory, so except in a few cases I'm sure it will be back to the Republican catechism sooner or later.

But it's nice to see his own people calling this useless piece of protoplasm exactly what he is. For a change.

Obama was winning soundly against the stumbling & bumbling Romney - seemingly on his way to a landslide win.

Then, in the first debate, Romney pulled his etch-a-sketch routine and embraced moderate policies that were at odds with all the hard right stances he campaigned on over the previous year. Following that, the Romney slide stopped and he had a big post-debate bounce that put him within striking distance.

And, his foreign policy was, as Bill Maher said, "What he (Obama) said, only from a white guy." Again, more moderation.

Obama still won handily, but he could very well have won an historic landslide if Romney continued his embrace of extremism.

Sandy damage would not be covered by a home owners insurance policy, a tornado's wind damage is covered, therefore they do not need federal dollars.

GOP Sen. Coburn: Medicare, Social Security “are things we don’t absolutely need”

GOP Sen. Coburn, who’s considered the Republican “expert” on health care, because he’s a “doctor,” just said that Medicare and Social Security “are things we don’t absolutely need.” (Video below.) Coburn has had it out for Medicare for a while now.

Other things Coburn doesn’t think we need include food safety, veterans’ benefits, and any kind of assistance to those who risked their lives responding to the September 11 attacks.

Ah yes, there’s nothing quite like the words of a pampered and entitled US senator preaching about what we need or don’t need, especially when it comes to Medicare and Social Security

Sharing his idiotic ideas of what America needs. No handouts for the rabble only wealthy, that are the real "takers" in our society.

The GOP remind me of this song: From Jesus Christ Superstar.

Snip:

(Caiaphas)
Tell the rabble to be quiet
We anticipate a riot
This common crowd
Is much too loud
Tell the mob who sing your song
That they are fools and they are wrong
They are a curse
They should disperse

Snip:

(Jesus)
Why waste your breath moaning at the crowd?
Nothing can be done to stop the shouting
If ev'ry tongue was still the noise would still continue
The rocks and stones themselves would start to sing:

Tom Coburn Helped Cover Up John Ensign Affair: Senate Ethics Report

Snip

Ensign resigned from the Senate earlier this month, but had admitted in 2009 to having an affair with Cynthia Hampton -- a past campaign aide and the wife of Doug Hampton. During a two-year inquiry into possible violations by Ensign, the Senate Ethics Committee found that he violated campaign finance laws and obscured justice to cover-up his affair.

Coburn, a friend of Ensign’s who confronted him about the adultery, became involved as an intermediary in negotiations between Ensign and Doug Hampton. The former aide sought money from Ensign in spring 2009. Coburn negotiated the payment to Doug Hampton down from $8 million to about $2.8 million, according to the report.

The Oklahoma Republican's involvement in the cover-up of the affair could lead to uncomfortable questions for the senator and his party going forward. While Ensign left the Senate hastily last week, Coburn remains an active figure.

The report provides extensive details of the Coburn's collaboration. He spoke to Hampton’s attorney, Daniel Albregts, three times on May 22, 2009, to discuss money Ensign planned to give the Hamptons. Coburn first said he wanted to “help Doug out” because he liked him and felt bad about what had happened, the report says. The Oklahoma Republican asked Albregts to find out what Hampton needed to start over. Read More.

Wed May 22, 2013, 07:01 AM
May 2013

It means
political theater over purposeful function
ideology over practicality
demagoguery over public service
petty vendettas over cooperation and compromise
pretense over substance
rhetoric over action
grandiosity over humility
self over other
control over leadership
special interest over public interest

It is all self-serving and, ironically, self-sabotaging
to our government -- and, ironically, they are the cause
of the "bad", incompetent government they complain
about so biliously.
