It's not just this one monster tornado

Two year's ago we had another one here in Missouri where 1/3 of Joplin got flattened. And before that another huge one that took out a whole town in Kansas.

I would think these things would be 20 year storms or 50 year storms but they are happening every couple of years now.

Kind of like the 100 year floods that are happening every few years now.

We had a really bad one in Ruskin Heights here in KC but that was about 50 years ago. We have had some kind of small ones come through but they don't do a whole lot of damage. Not like these huge storms.

People living in areas where the cold air from the north and the wet, hot air from the Gulf meet need to have storm shelters - it's just a fact of life. Hunkering down in the bathtub or in the hall closet just doesn't make it anymore.

And all schools and public building need to have shelters.
