when study after study found all of them doing as well in school as could be expected: the ones who were adopted into middle class homes doing very well and the ones who had remained with drug using parents suffering the effects of poverty but not drugs.

No permanent learning disabilities or neurological deficits were ever found and their growth and development was completely normal.

It was more anti black, bullshit hysteria ginned up to make Republicans look tough on crime when they violated civil rights in the majority black neighborhoods.
