(186 posts)In general they long for a time past. A time with less tolerance and compassion.

(13,485 posts)Those you you speak of are the tea party majority who are followers and gullible. The ones to worry about are the ones who control them. They are the ones who may or may not believe in the paradigm of the mass followers but have a great hunger for power, control, money, etc. and will use them to that advantage at any cost. The corporate controllers don't care about the long time past, they don't dream or care about tolerance or compassion. They just want to make America their servants.

(40,416 posts)Let's not call them dumb. Some may even be very intelligent.
But what they share is a proud, willful ignorance which disguises any intelligence they might have. This ignorance is born out of an ideology which is blind to any evidence or argument. That makes them so resistant to changing their opinions and therefore learning how things really work.
It is the one thing that makes them difficult to fight politically. There is a cult like nature to their beliefs, which is another reason why they are such a problem.

(1,068 posts)Of all the nutcases out there, the Tea Party assholes are the ONLY group to warrant Department of Homeland Security coverage. NOT Code Pink. NOT OWS.
The Tea Party is the most despotic, destructive, dangerous group of individuals in world history, and need to be dealt with.

(111,053 posts)They are afraid of losing their country. They are afraid of losing their guns. They are afraid of losing their jobs to immigrants. They are basically a paranoid bunch but their paranoia is real. They are actually scared.

The politicians, the corporate teabaggers, the media RW are the power mad, control freaks, sociopaths, greed mongers.
But a lot of politicians cross over between the two.

(9,286 posts)All they care about is themselves and sucking the life out of this country so that they dont have to pay any taxes.
They selfishly gorge themselves on the lifeblood of this country to its detriment and provide no actual benefit in return.
