Latest WH scandals - oh, PUH-leeze!

OK, so the Benghazi "scandal" has been traced back to Republicans. Big surprise.

The IRS scandal seems to be about local IRS departments targeting groups that they thought were "suspicious". No shit, there were obviously political parties pretending to be non-political parties in order to take advantage of the Tax Laws. But the bottom-line was that none of it could be tied to the WH or Obama's re-election, which is what Republicans initially charged.

Now, the media is attacking Obama because the Admin is cracking down on leaks from the WH. They are even re-naming these leaks as "whistle-blowers".

Now, there is a fine line between a "leaker" and a "whistle-blower". But there are some things that should be kept secret - when, for instance, a person's life is in danger if certain things are "leaked". From what I understand, not only was a single agents life pput in danger because of this leak, but his whole family was as well.

Is a person's life, as well as those innocent lives of their family, worth the leak?

We struggled with this in the Valerie Plame case. Personally, I wish the AG had been as aggressive in that case as many people accuse the AG to be in this one.

Finally, we are depending on the Media to report on attacks to the Media.

by labeling every freakin' 'source' as a whistleblower. Someone was leaking classified information. The DOJ tracked it down and found the source. Turns out FOX was soliciting information. The media seems to think they're above the law, and have NO respect as to what our intelligence agencies deal with, and the thousands of people here and abroad who put their lives on the line. The media is out of control. Money f-cks everything up. I'm glad the DOJ put the clamp down on their ass and drew a very distinctive line in the sand. They'll think twice before releasing classified information now.

abc is ignoring it.. jon karl went on cnn to say even though it's wrong his report "entirely stands". End of story. As far as karl's concerned.

As for the Leak about the British double agent..

***snip

"The revelations about the British agent in al Qaeda remind us that Beltway leaking is a major security threat," said Nigel Inkster, a former assistant chief of the British intelligence agency MI6"

snip***

The British double agent was also said to have provided vital information about al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula and about its master bomb maker Ibrahim al-Asiri. Around the same time as the leak, a drone strike in Yemen killed a senior al Qaeda leader, Fahd al Quso, who had been involved in the USS Cole bombing. However, it not been confirmed that this killing was connected to the undercover operation.

The leaked news potentially did more than put the operation it at risk. It also threatened the life of the double agent and his family and had an impact on the prospects for similar operations in the future. After all, why would similar recruits co-operate with the British knowing that information about what they did would go public?
