Jon Stewart DESTROYS what's left of Peggy Noonan's credibility

STEWART:

Now think hard, Peggy Noonan. Never in your lifetime have you seen a scandal this bad? What if a President secretly sold weapons to Iran, in return for American hostages, and then used the proceeds to illegally fund a bunch of coked-up right-wing jungle rapists in Nicaragua? Ring a bell? Here's a hint: you worked in his White House as a high-profile speechwriter.

Noonen is only "credible" today because that's what Corporate America wants her to be and that's how she's marketed. Anyone with more than half a working brain {and the moneyed Fascists in this country don't believe there are many of us} can see right through her faux ladylike image.

She's a Republican hack and corporate serf, no different than Brainfart but better at putting words together.

The first impression I get of her is that she is a real snob and totally in love with the sound of her own voice. She seems to relish dragging out whatever she is saying with a heavy dose of drama. And if you listen to her, you would think there is no other opinion that counts other than hers.

Does she not realize that her facial expressions actually detract from what she is saying to the point that it's hard to watch her without laughing?

She really, really does need to watch some clips of her appearances on shows like Meet the Press so she can get some clues of why people are mocking her. Stewart did an awesome job of taking her down a notch or two.

George Bush could have eaten puppies on live television and it wouldn't have changed their opinions in the slightest. If lying the country into a war doesn't change Republican's opinions, nothing will. They will still fall back on "But Clinton" and "But Obama" ad nauseam.

They won't even vote for things that are in their best interest because of wedge issues. Do you honestly think they give a fuck when the truth is repeatedly pointed out to them? They don't. They DO NOT CARE what the truth is.

I don't mean to be so negative, but I'm fed up with Republicans. My sister lives in OKC, and their entire town is destroyed, and she's with the ones whining for assistance while in the last election she voted straight Republican.

She fucking voted against plan B for women, when she can't carry a child to term because of a heart condition. She actively works against abortion when her own mother wouldn't be alive had it not been for my father taking her out of a Catholic hospital when she had an ectopic pregnancy and they did a D&C to remove the dead child.

It's lunacy, and lunacy reigns with Republicans. They don't give a fuck about anyone but themselves, never have and never will. When tragedy visits their door, everyone is expected to drop everything and help them out, though. That's when the "Christian" bullshit gets laid on thick. It's Christian to help them, but god forbid they ever show tolerance or kindness when someone else has an issue.

Strom Thurmond was a former dem, too....Our crew weren't always saints back in the day.

Was she swooning over JFK as a tween? Batting her eyelids at Bobby and Teddy?

She's about that deep--and no deeper. I swear, I saw her on a panel with Nancy Reagan once, eons ago, and I thought Nancy wanted to clean her clock, the way she was drooling over Ronnie like he was her Grand Unrequited Romance--it was UNSEEMLY. Creepy. Stalkerish. It made one...uncomfortable.

wiki says she was rumored to have had an affair with Jeff Greenfield *yummy*

In a world full of repukes who are 100% repukes, I always look for any repuke who shows the slightest anti-repuke glimmer

Noonan expressed her view that Palin did not demonstrate "the tools, the equipment, the knowledge or the philosophical grounding one hopes for, and expects, in a holder of high office," concluding that Palin's candidacy marked a "vulgarization in American Politics" that is "no good... for conservatism... [or] the country."[6]

I know she wrote a paean to Ronnie called "What I Saw at the Revolution" or words to that effect--a friend of mine had it in the bathroom library in hardback on a 99 cent clearance purchase. I read a chapter or so, I'm sure, but I don't remember anything about it save I was surprised that she was so touted as a speechwriter because her stuff didn't capture me in the slightest.

I've never been able to stand her. In many ways she's more obnoxious than the screech queens like Coulter and Malkin with that pompous attitude of hers -- the way she weighs every word as if she's some savant and everyone on the show and in the viewing audience is hanging on her every word. I also love the way she purses her lips when she doesn't agree with something another guest is saying, as if she's your maiden aunt and she just found "skid marks" on your underwear while doing the laundry.

Whenever I picture her writing her column (which actually isn't often) she always in a Barbara Billingsley house dress, clacking away on a manual typewriter with a bottle of cooking sherry at the ready.
