Rangel gives thumbs down on Weiner.

Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) was asked on MSNBC about the Anthony Weiner run for Mayor of NYC. He said that he understands why Weiner thinks he should run but doesn't think he will have much influence on the outcome.

Asked directly if he supports Weiner Rep. Rangel simply said, "No".

Rangel carries as much weight with me as a day-old tuna fish sandwich. He's lucky he gets to collect his big fat pension when he retires, and he should be content with that.

At time, they're more vicious toward their fellow Democrats than they are against Republicans.

I guess they feel they need to keep the Democratic Party divided . . . makes it easier to explain their pro-Republican votes as being "independent" of party.

It's hard to be confident in the wisdom of a man who thinks it's a good idea to photograph his penis and send it to women.

Here is my thinking:

You (the you being Weiner) work hard to become a politician. You know scandals will ruin your career. For some reason you lack any self control and start texting pictures of your penis to multiple girls. Apparently you think this is a wise thing to do.

Personally, I think that shows a lack of judgement, wisdom, self control, etc. Not someone that I would be confident running a city.

Do I think he is a bad person? No.
Would I put my backing behind someone who would screw up that bad? No

If I had to vote for either him or a republican I would vote for him.

Forever afraid of the progressive wing and doing all possible to keep it down.

Granted, in this case Weiner gave them a heck of an excuse...but first and foremost...he's a progressive...in need of being pounded to snott and encouraged to never again hold public office.

If progressives get a voice they might demand the party actually go slightly left
