Whatever happened to Benghazi?

A few days ago I saw something about how Petraeus may have been behind the "talking points" that made the State Department look inept at best.

Since then - crickets. Did the fact that a republican "hero" have some culpability make this fake scandal disappear virtually overnight? Or did somebody decide that the IRS clusterfuck have a lot more potential to make Obama look bad?

Whatever. I never saw something that was such a BFD disappear so fast.

at ginning up idiotic controversies and then disappearing them the second they start to go South.

That's probably the reason the ARB report authors refused to speak with the asshole's committee in private.

Issa likes to question witnesses in private and only after making sure they have the answers he wants inviting or subpoenaing them to a public meeting. If they counter his moronic narrative they don't get the invitation.

Issa and most of the Republicans are only looking for partisan points on the board, and really don't want to investigate what was actually happening inside the CIA compound in Benghazi and the policy behind it.

it helps if scandals make sense, which Benghazi barely did.

The neocons and chickenhawks didn't want to expose the serial regime change operations and pipeline of heavy weapons and Jihadi fighters going from Libya to Syria, so they zeroed in on embassy security which turned out to be a red-herring.

They sorta fell on their sword - ironically that helped Hillary who along with Petraeus was the moving force within the Administration for the regime change strategy.
