Eight Men (NO WOMEN) Consider House Bill To Restrict Women's Reproductive Rights

[IMG][/IMG]

An all-male panel of House lawmakers considered a bill on Thursday that would ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy across the United States, without exceptions for rape, incest or health of the mother.

The House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, led by the bill's sponsor, Rep. Trent Franks (R-Ariz.), has no female members.

Days of the Theocracy
(Kristin Lems)
July 15, 2007
words/ music Kristin Lems c 2007 Kleine Ding Music (BMI)

1. First they fight abortion, birth control is next,
Then comes sex if you’re not married, finally, out goes sex!
Put the prayers back in the schools, install "parochiaid,"
Allow for corporal punishment, and then you got it made!

Chorus:

We’re going back, back to the good ole days
When men were really men and women knew their place
Back, back a couple of centuries
And welcome back the days of the theocracy

2. The family is so holy, there must be no divorce
And if a wife is not content, she must adjust, of course
And if he’s forced to beat her, it’s all for her own good
She must know what her limits are, as any woman should.

(chorus)

3. The next to go is daycare, it’s all a commie plot!
What could be more fulfilling than a child, wanted or not?
A woman’s world is housework, God wanted it that way
A salaried job degrades her since she never works for pay

(chorus)

4. They teach us women’s lot is "love honor and obey"
And while their crusty notions seem like jokes to us today,
They’re sitting in the Capitol, they’re voting on our lives
If we don’t stop them now, our freedom will not long survive!

No going back..to the bad ole days...

(chorus)

let's go ahead, ahead for future centuries,
And build a world that’s based on true democracy
And build a world that’s based on true equality ~ Ah – person!

But we did know each other, and the college course was...jeez, I don't even want to think about how many years ago that was, lol. I became aware several years ago that we had both become musicians, but have had no contact with her in decades. It would be a privilege to see her perform though, and I do think she'd remember me. I suppose she probably has a website, and I'll have to check it and see if she ever will be performing near me. Thank you again for posting those awesome lyrics.

Dear Pricks (oops, I mean, representatives)

I have but one question for you. WHY DO YOU HATE WOMEN? Seriously, trying to understand this, because that is the ONLY explanation for what all these restrictive laws are about. WHY DO YOU HATE WOMEN? Women gave birth to each one of you--some of you have sisters who are women, wives who are women--WHY DO YOU HATE WOMEN?

Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) fired back, "I hope, as my colleagues express such concern for fetuses today, that they will also show concern for women's health."

Love the fetus, then abandon the child. Children can starve for all they care. They will never get it not ever.

They love the fetus so much, maybe just maybe, they should consider the Women that are bearing them! If the asshats considered how much harm they are doing to the fetus when they deny proper health care for Women.

It's a woman's right to chose not theirs!

Male legislators should have absolutely no say on this issue. I cannot believe this is happening.

They have no right to determine our reproductive rights. They just need to butt out permanently. Why can't we stop them?

Thankfully this will be DOA in the senate and will be vetoed if it somehow made it past them. Let the republicans keep trying to turn back the clock. They will fade further into obscurity as the country moves forward.

I suggest that the men who are against this procedure even in the case of rape, incest or when the health of the mother is in danger, should be forced to carry a papaya up their backsides for 9 months and see how they feel about it.

Men decide on womens issues. The rich decide on poor issues. The people with free government insurance decide for the people without. The people who nearly destroyed the economy are brought on board to fix it. Congress decides to buy tanks that no Army needs.

We are on a runaway train. All you can do is hold on.
