He refrained from talking about "White Devils" and "Satanic Jews", but the undercurrent was still there.

What sucks is I agree with a part of his message, about black folks being builders and scientists and engineers and property owners instead of gangbangers. But to promote those messages, he dips deep into the well of racism, antisemitism, and homophobia.

Meanwhile, there are people here that ignore the intolerant part of his message, or excuse it, or deny that the message is as popular as it is.

Some people are in denial about what Farrakhan is promoting. I felt that rather than continuing the "he said she said" of a few quotes, let's let him verify his hate with video documentation.

I am gay, Jewish, and white. The first two parts of my identity have made me very clear as to who he is! I agree, there are a few who want to gloss over his homophobia and anti-Semitism, especially the latter. It amazes me they are allowed to be members here, but it is what I expect.

slope when you start suggesting banning people because they speak out against something they see wrong which concerns Jews and attaching it to approving of Farrakhan.. You can criticize without being anti-semite. For example, I don't approve of Israel's oppression of the Palestinians and trying to lure this country in a War through our payed for Congress and siding with white supremacists in this country to gain a certain end for themselves. I do not take marching orders from Farrakhan or even approve of his radicalist religion. We can criticize both sides for their extremism. And when they lie and distort the truth in pushing their agendas, we can call them out. It is called equal opportunity. Rightwing conservatives calling Farrakhan out is like the Pot calling the kettle Black. The difference is he has no power in Government to carry out his extremist views. That makes him irrelevant.

these people you claim are in denial? You seem to be making him important. He really wasn't in the spotlight, until some felt he was important.

Did you see the speech he made in the video above?

In 2007, he spoke to an audience of 50,000 people at Ford Field. His latest anti-Semitic rant was at a function organized by the Detroit leader of the NAACP. He may not be in your spotlight, but he is in other people's - including civic and religious leaders.

We are generally on the same side as him on a host of issues.

We are generally not on the same side as him on a variety of other issues

To make our big tent smaller would be a mistake.

A common joke is that leading democrats is like herding cats.

Lets work together were we can
