Radical cleric Anjum Chaudhry claims most Muslims would agree with Woolwich attacker

http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/402076/Radical-cleric-Anjum-Chaudhry-claims-most-Muslims-would-agree-with-Woolwich-attack

On Newsnight tonight, Chaudhry said while the brutal attack on a serving soldier was shocking what the man covered in blood said about foreign policy explained what he did.

Chaudhry, who set up Islam4UK which was condemned in the Terrorism Act 2000, refused to say he abhorred and was horrified by the attack.

Drummer Rigby, a married father of a two-year-old boy, died after being brutally attacked in broad daylight by two men in South East London yesterday.

He said: "What he said in the clip which is being televised, not many muslims can disagree with it."

With drones.

And helicopter gunships.

And fighter bombers.

And years-long embargoes.

Or like that British soldier did in Afghanistan. With mortars.

If you define it as being someone who share's Chaudhry's views, and dismiss all the others as being heretics - as I suspect he may well do - then he'd be right, but by that standard there would be far fewer muslims than there actually are.

Worldwide, I suspect the number of muslims who'd agree with him would be uncomfortably high, but fall well short of a majority.

Here in the UK, it will be a tiny minority.

many of us would not mind too much if something slightly unpleasant happened to Anjum Chaudhry either.

What a super great guy.

That last line was sarcasm.

Is this country mad? Why is Anjem Choudary, whose poisonous teachings influenced the Woolwich killers, free to draw benefits and tour BBC studios spouting murderous hatred against Britain?

He teaches them to change their mobile phones and computers regularly so they don’t leave an electronic trail. Nor does he shy away from preaching about jihad.

‘Jihad is part of the Koran,’ he says. ‘What the people of Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya and Palestine are doing is defending themselves from foreign fighters coming to kill them. It’s outrageous that we get called terrorists if we  speak about the right to defend ourselves.’

But Choudary doesn’t draw the line at fighting: he wants Britain to become an Islamic state itself.

He believes Muslim immigrants will eventually out-breed the native British population, pointing out that Medina in Saudi Arabia once had just 200 Muslim inhabitants, but went on to become the second city of Islam.  His mood will no doubt have been  buoyed by new figures this  week showing that one in ten of under 25-year-olds living here are Muslim.

He hopes this rise in numbers will pave the way for the implementation of a brutal form of sharia law that forces women to cover themselves completely in public  and bans them from education and employment.

...only a miniscule fraction go around blowing shit up and murdering others.

Of course Chaudhry's bent on instilling fear so he's not going to point out this fact.

He believes the UK will become an Islamic state.

And as the article points out, it really just be a matter of time before it does.

The idea that the UK is in any danger of becoming an Islamic state is ridiculous. By religion Muslims only account for 4.8% of the entire UK population (2011), and the vast majority of them aren't radicals who want to live under Sharia Law.

Sure, Choudary and those like him are a problem. So are rw rags like the Daily Mail. They both live to ratchet up fear and hatred.
