and surrounding buildings is remarkable. I don't think the spire adds much, but doesn't really detract, either.

if it weren't that stupid red and white, average telephone tower. If it matched somehow and was still safe for air traffic it could be nice. But not as it is, it makes the view weak or like putting a TV antenna on your house.
