Does this mean the banksters have finally won?
While having my coffee I came across this...
"Banks’ Lobbyists Help in Drafting Financial Bills.." "WASHINGTON — Bank lobbyists are not leaving it to lawmakers to draft legislation that softens financial regulations. Instead, the lobbyists are helping to write it themselves. One bill that sailed through the House Financial Services Committee this month — over the objections of the Treasury Department — was essentially Citigroup’s, according to e-mails reviewed by The New York Times. The bill would exempt broad swathes of trades from new regulation. In a sign of Wall Street’s resurgent influence in Washington, Citigroup’s recommendations were reflected in more than 70 lines of the House committee’s 85-line bill. Two crucial paragraphs, prepared by Citigroup in conjunction with other Wall Street banks, were copied nearly word for word. (Lawmakers changed two words to make them plural.) 5. Totally agree
It was over when they got bailed out and the government asked for NOTHING in the way of new regulation and prosecuted no one. Our government surrendered to the banksters.

3. Not quite yet
but they are getting closer. There are still middle class people who actually have assets just waiting to be stolen.

9. +1
There were a couple of periods in the last century when the People came first... FDR and Truman, JFK to LBJ. After that, it's been largely money-trumps-peace for Wall Street.

13. Sadly, I have to agree with you.
And also sadly, I was gullible enough to think that Obama might be the one to fight back.

7. They won a long time ago.
I believe it happened to thunderous applause and by landslide election victories.

10. Was there ever any doubt?
They won the minute our first Democratic president in 8 years appointed folks like Timmy Boy and had Rahm Emmanuel and Larry Summers at his side. That was basically the waving of a gigantic white flag for the people of American in the fight against the corrupt banking industry.

Ronald Reagan was the worst mistake we ever made in this country.
