Anonymous Helps Westboro Hate Group Raise Reported $8,000 For Tornado Victims
by Leslie Salzillo • May 26, 2013

Apparently a designated Oklahoma tornado WBC website, GodHatesOklahoma.com, was hacked by Anonymous this week. The hactivists found a way to direct visitors from the WBC site to a Red Cross donation site, automatically. (I do love this story.)

When people would go to visit Westboro Baptist Church, they would see photo of ‘Jesus’ giving the middle finger and a message:

”Westboro Faptist Church — Even Jesus Hates You.” (Faptist being a reference to the word “fap,” Internet slang for “masturbate”).

Reports, say, below the image read:

‘On the 8th day, God created hackers, and he saw that it was good.’ From the Gospel according to @th3j35t3r Redirecting in 5 seconds…….”

Then visitors were taken to a Red Cross donation site for victims of the storm. The Twitter account referenced, @th3j35t3r, belongs to “Jester,” who is well known as a hacker. As of this writing, I could not open the page, GodHatesOklahoma. It’s reported the Red Cross took in 8k from donations during the Anonymous hacking stunt.

1. I applaud Anonymous' action against the Westboro folks!

That is just deliciously ironic.

9. Normally, I'm just a little bit uncertain about Anonymous's actions.

However, considering their role in making Steubenville public knowledge, and their participation in the Monsanto protests, and this, well...
I'll admit that they've been making me pretty happy as of late. That could change but, right now, I like them. Carry on, Anon!

Also, may I just say that the title of this article made me do a double-take? For a second, I'd thought that evil and good had united for charity! This is much more believable...

11. I thought of that also

when I posted it. Decided to keep the original title because it seems to reflect the
humor of the hacking.

10. Please let me know if

[b
I remember correctly.. Westboro are a bunch of Lawyers who show up to protest

anything, and everything, in the hopes that they may SUE the city's where they are

wielding their protests and hate...(like in Boston after the bomb)...
That's how they operate..

If this is true, might I suggest the Tea Bag guy, with the bandanna, (I forgot his name) contact Westboro for representation...

They would make a fine pair!...
just sayin.....ughhh
]
and btw... from what I have read about Anonymous, and Jester, they deserve an award for this one.... and other work I know of, and approve of!
This makes me happy!!!

16. On a holiday like "Memorial Day" I can't share these types of stories easily

Don't know about anybody else, but I find it hard to turn off the activist button. My "friends" on fb surely don't want my politics 8 days a week. But I hope to remember this tomorrow.
