but wondered if it dealt well with the kind of "interesting/disfunctional families" that many of us deal with these days or if it was some MDM Push to convince us that we are ALL SO DIFFERENT that there's nothing but squabbling amongst us left for family structure to be assaulted with to see if it can survive.

Not sure...but, it was "INTERESTING" for sure...

Thing is one can watch it in any order and get a different expierence. When I watch it with my wife, we will watch it in random order.

For some reason I had stopped watching it. Now that I have Netflix I have watched the whole series and I am glad that I did.

It's very funny. A lot of inside jokes that I like. Things that happen in the background that come back later.

I watched 8 episodes so far of the new season and although I found the first episode a bit confusing, (I had to watch it twice) it still is pretty funny.

This new season is different in that the actors were not all available at the same time so each episode is more about one character, although other characters appear in each episode.

I haven't seen much of "Buster", the youngest brother.

Comedy is subjective.

There is a summary of the show at this link about halfway down the page. http://www.tv.com/web/arrested-development/

waiting for the new season to come out on dvd! It better! Arghhh!

I am sure it was cancelled originally due to insulting that war criminal Bush, but also because they spoke about Saddam's doubles and the bushites wanted people to forget all about the doubles, for some reason...

ding to the Nielsen ratings system, the show's first season was the 120th most popular show among households and the 88th among viewers 18 to 49, averaging 6.2 million viewers.

From Wikipedia

Wiki gets a lot of stuff wrong, but it's pretty solid with pop culture data.

Excellent show cut down but too small an audience.

and the insults to W. had a hand in the cancellation. Remember, when they finally had Saddam, the doubles were really not mentioned much at all. There was an article in an Egyptian paper, iirc, published shortly after his execution, and his wife claimed that it was not him she visited in prison.

Anyway, just always very suspicious of the media owners.

so I'm glad they've got new episodes out now. I'm with Netflix, but it's the "mail me DVDs" program, so I'll just have to wait until they get to that option. It was a funny show and most of the actors went on to bigger and better things.

I re-re-re-re-rewatched the first 3 seasons and just finished that on Friday night... and then marathoned Season 4 in my PJ's all day yesterday.

It's worth every minute and I will re-watch all 4 again in short order. There is always something I pick up on another go 'round.

This is one of the best shows that I have ever watched. I was heartbroken (a slight exaggeration only) when it was cancelled and bought it on DVD. I have watched the entirety of the show ~ once a year since its cancellation. Keep in mind, i don't like TV.

I have watched the first three of the new episodes ... I think it may have lost some of its magic. If you loved Arrested Development it is still well worth watching.

Hoping you watch it and love it!
