On right wing discussion boards, are glaring errors corrected by other posters?

DU can get really feisty when somebody disagrees with posted material. We correct factual errors routinely, and even opinions that are essentially unsupportable get blasted.

Does the same happen at conservative discussion boards? I know that some DUers watch Freeperville and a few others quite closely and might be able to provide insight.

For example, if some Freeper stated, "The United States has more proven petroleum reserves than the entire Middle East," would this poster be descended upon to prove this nonsense or, better yet, would some Freeper swiftly disprove this fallacious claim? My very limited experience tells me this rarely happens.

In my small sample, such errors are not corrected, they're propagated. Scuba May 2013 #1

But grammatical and spelling mistakes which can take you down here on DU are often overlooked completely.

errors were posted, but so were facts, but the discussions deteriorated so quickly that the trolls basically took over every discussion with every ad hominem they could fling at a liberal, even using liberal like a dirty word. That was more than a decade ago.

As far as freeperville, it's very easy to get PPR'd there if you don't agree with everything the administrator of that website believes in.

I tried a couple of times, but the format of the board has not evolved since about 1995. I find it unreadable.

but was banned there in 2006, and really haven't bothered to look at it much since, except for looking at an occasional link from here. I don't think I've looked at the site even for that for at least three or four years, now. There's nothing there worth looking at.

The reason why I'm a DUer and not a Freeper is because DUers have had always had more information and more facts and an attitude of not suffering fools or letting our intelligence be insulted.

I recall on various forums that when someone posted something over-the-top crazy or stupid, most of the corrections/chiding were not due to the view as such, but more for the worry that it was impolitic. Now these weren't political forums as such, but general "lounge" type boards in forums of other interests/hobbies and politics were the most common subject.

The most common complaint among posts were people calling each other's claim to an ideology in question just because they didn't tow every aspect of the neocon line. Yeah, herd mentality.

That's why it is trivial for moles to come to DU and go undetected for years.
