A Nice Reprieve From War Television..."Rat Patrol" radio on Live365 is pretty much big bands

from the era with a few news clips from the '40s. A poster earlier had noted so many war movies on TV, which is fine if you are into that, I get a little tired of it. War, War, War...Ugh....If interested go to Oldies then type in Big Band and there are numerous options. I like Rat Patrol, it covers all of the big bands of the time. Enjoy!

it it will make you cry. It's about a soldier accompany a dead soldier home. It shows what they do at Dover with the body to clean it up and all the way through different airports and drives. Shows how people stop and respect the dead soldier. At the end of the movie it shows a picture of the real soldier that this was based on. I mean it is a real tear jerker. I remember my husband being on a list to have that kind of duty. It really really bothered him. Some soldiers have a hard time with it. My husband was a chaplain's assistant and prepared many funerals on post and he knew what to do. If we could show this movie to congress many then maybe they'd think twice before sending them.
