Russia Warns Obama: Monsanto
Posted: May 28th, 2013 ˑ Filled under: Top News ˑ 32 Comments
The shocking minutes relating to President Putins meeting this past week with US Secretary of State John Kerry reveal the Russian leaders extreme outrage over the Obama regimes continued protection of global seed and plant bio-genetic giants Syngenta and Monsanto in the face of a growing bee apocalypse that the Kremlin warns will most certainly lead to world war.
According to these minutes, released in the Kremlin today by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation (MNRE), Putin was so incensed over the Obama regimes refusal to discuss this grave matter that he refused for three hours to even meet with Kerry, who had traveled to Moscow on a scheduled diplomatic mission, but then relented so as to not cause an even greater rift between these two nations.
At the center of this dispute between Russia and the US, this MNRE report says, is the undisputed evidence that a class of neuro-active insecticides chemically related to nicotine, known as neonicotinoids, are destroying our planets bee population, and which if left unchecked could destroy our worlds ability to grow enough food to feed its population.
So grave has this situation become, the MNRE reports, the full European Commission (EC) this past week instituted a two-year precautionary ban (set to begin on 1 December 2013) on these bee killing pesticides following the lead of Switzerland, France, Italy, Russia, Slovenia and Ukraine, all of whom had previously banned these most dangerous of genetically altered organisms from being used on the continent.
Two of the most feared neonicotinoids being banned are Actara and Cruiser made by the Swiss global bio-tech seed and pesticide giant Syngenta AG which employs over 26,000 people in over 90 countries and ranks third in total global sales in the commercial agricultural seeds market.

Is that why you trust them on this kind of story?

This is gross stupidity and a disgusting example of monopoly power. I maintain that Money, Profit and Capitalism are not sacred, not even valuable in the long term. If one cannot argue economics, or is indebted to the science of this so much as to wear blinders to proven biological truths, the history of Life on Earth still proves them wrong.

DevonRex
(22,541 posts)First clue should've been that it was Putin. I mean, really? He'd sell his babushka for medical experimentation if he didn't feel like paying for a nursing home. He could give a shit about Monsanto unless its in the form of making him some cash from other countries who want his supply of seed. And Russia has quite a stash.
Second clue was the source. One click on the home page and you have disgusting Sandy Hook truther BS. A click on their conspiracy page will take you into crazy. Luckily it's pretty limited. There's one out there that's much worse and that has links that will take you all over the world.

A Google search of <Putin Kerry> didn't return anything really credible--at least on this topic
Finally, a Google search of <putin kerry may 2013 minutes> returned nothing supportive, but I did find a link that described Putin as always late and stated "Last week Putin kept John Kerry, the US secretary of state, waiting for an astonishing three hours, while he berated his cabinet."

(6,057 posts)Not only did the OP cite nut job "conspiracy sites" for his post, he/she also embellished on what was actually in the article!
Nowhere in the article does it claim that Putin threatened world war!
I'm going to alert again. THIS INTENTIONAL BS MUST STOP!
freshwest
(53,661 posts)Putin is not about to go to war over anything. The Russians have their hands full, just like we do. I'm not sure anyone other than the 'we're all gonna die' crowd believes all of this.
That's a scare tactic used by promoters of libertarianism and tribalism against representative democracy. It's also anti-Obama propaganda.
The actions of the USDA and Obama come from several disciplines and are being done for many reasons to suit many factions. But monoculturalism, killing soil microoraganisms with heavy fertilizer, herbicide and pesticide use is short-term gain methodology. The world is indeed a laboratory, but often the pure chemical approach is lacking in sustaining living.
Humans have always done forms of genetic modifications to plants and animals. But now it is being done for monopoly power and profit, not long-term plans.
So I understand why this was alerted - the intent may have been to inform, may have been to demonize Obama, or just ease the anxieties of some on the website.
Putin has a sense of humor, appears to love life and his country, and has supporters and haters.
Perhaps I'm tired of fighting the woo and looking for whatever is good, but that's just me.
