Garden Party~ With First Lady Michelle

First lady Michelle Obama offers a sniff of fennel to a student from Sarah Moore Greene Magnet Technology Academy in Knox County, Tennessee, while harvesting and cooking vegetables from the White House Kitchen Garden. The first lady was joined by students from Somerville, Massachusettes, Knox County, Tennessee, Milton, Vermont, Washington, DC and Union Beach and Ship Bottom, New Jersey.

The kids who harvested got to see Marine 1 land. They were super excited and POTUS shook each one of their hands! pic.twitter.com/9IBRaH7jJP

Likewise.. Which reminds, she. Was that not Cool about New Jersey being invited 'cause the President left her to go there" and see about the Progress after the Storm Sandy.. and they thought it would be good to have New Jersey kids at the Garden Party?

I've been here over 2 1/2 years and still can't use to being so far behind the East Coast. It is weird.

Ah yes, love the Sychronicity of the Obamas!

I've never really had much of anyone to share my love of gardening with. Those kids are so blessed to be able to learn about bringing life with Michelle.

I am glad you like gardening, freshwest. It does bring a sense of peace does it not. And the beauty of it's bounty, a joy is breathtaking.

I am glad that Flotus has this in her life now, she can enjoy the freshness of it to relieve the pressures of DC.
