LANSING, MI — Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder may not like politics, but he loves policy, and he appears to have found something of a kindred spirit in the heir to a political dynasty. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, the son and brother of two past presidents who is a possible 2016 candidate himself, is scheduled to deliver a keynote address at this week’s Mackinac Policy Conference, organized by the Detroit Regional Chamber with input from Snyder, who has taken a hands-on approach to agenda setting at the annual event since taking office in early 2011.

1. This deserves many responses but I just feel humiliated by the USA & its political direction.

2. It's a think tank for people who don't do much thinking about the less fortunate.

As for those with money, they are continually thinking of ways to help them make more.



One of their favorite processes is to separate it from those who earned it by hard work.

3. Yes I was aware of the Amway foundation. Didn't Canada ban Amway at one time? Anyway,

it's septic and those who are drawn to it are likewise unhealthy for the commonweal.

Of the 54 schools Rahm is closing - with the dictatorial power Chicago's mayors have over public education, no elected school boards is my understanding - 52 are in African American or Latino/a neighborhoods.

And how is Mr Chicago Miracle Arne Duncan's schemes faring? 40% have CPS's lowest rating. So the Charter schools take public money, pay outrageous salaries to the principals, and fail the community. But serving the community and its children isn't the point is it? It's milking the public sector for private profit. Also, the % of African American teachers has fallen from 40% to 27%.
