Michele Bachmann is out. Why winning her seat just got more difficult for Democrats.

As usual, a Post pundit gets it wrong. It is not a 'blow' to Democrats but a plus for the country. This ucking loony toon self-selected herself out of the race for whatever bullshit reason she came up with. With the shifting attitudes and demographics of her district there's a chance that a Democrat or a sane Republican may run and fill the seat.

And this further reinforces the ball garglers position as the Party of Quit.

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) just handed a gift to the House Republicans’ campaign organization.

The outspoken conservative’s decision not to run for reelection increases the likelihood the GOP will hold onto Minnesota’s 6th district, for several reasons. In short, Republicans can now lean on the natural GOP tilt of the district without having to defend Bachmann’s baggage — which nearly cost the conservative her spot in Congress last fall.

that the District will elect a sane, much less progressive/liberal, to that seat...

If the Republican heir-apparent tries to solidify Bachman's ties to the tea-party, there is a better chance for a Democrat than if a moderate (e.g. somewhat less whacko) Republican runs.

Can you name some of these sane Republicans currently in Congress?

I think the Post got it right. Winning that seat just got harder for Democrats and that's bad for the country.

It may take some work to expose the insanity but it will come out. The new (R) nominee will carry all of Bachmann's baggage.
