1. A Tulsan. I ran into him shopping at Safeway

of all places. He was hard to miss. LOL He asked me about pork and beans.. what was the best brand.
I don't think he was trying to pick me up...

4. It's surprising how many famous people turn up in Tulsa

Leon Russell is local, of course. I remember meeting Eric Clapton once. I saw Ben Stiller and Amber Valletta shopping for Christmas presents one year. Paula Abduhl, Donna Reed I used to see pretty often when she lived here, Georgeanne Johnson (soap opera star, was in Midnight Cowboy, did a few Alfred Hitchcock TV shows--incredibly pretty in person and very, very nice).

My parents saw Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton at the Camelot Hotel once, and a friend's parents bumped into Jayne Mansfield coming out of a club near downtown one night. A friend of my Mom's saw Joan Crawford a couple of times, dining at a restaurant, shopping, and running errands.

Leon Russell used to have a house on Grand Lake, and had a boat docked at the same dock we used when my parents had a place on Grand. I met him and his wife back in the seventies when I was getting ready to go out in my boat.

I know there's a few more that I've seen or met personally, or have heard about.
