Ego usually runs first in politics and when you see fawning dreck like this the best response is usually to be even more skeptical.

Yes we can, be duped by a smooth talking charlatan
but in the end, what choice did we have? Obama-Hillary-McCain. Only ONE offered at least a CHANCE. So we spent a few dollars on lottery tickets and sat in front of the TV to see the winning numbers.
Unfortunately in American politics today, the house always wins. And when Republicans surged back to take the House in 2010, that was the end of any more "yes we can".
