in 1989. OK has had a long time to get used to them new fangled wind machines.

The main thing I noticed about them was how loud they were. It was a steady racket caused by the generators, though, so it was easy to get used to. I stayed in a motel next to the installation that night and was too exhausted to mind the noise.

Wind turbine antagonists need to look carefully at that picture. There is a kid's tricycle that's supposed to be there, but there is a whole lot of other debris there that isn't.

It had to be a tornado or a microburst, something drastic enough to rip a machine of that size apart.

The wind turbines in this country is part of the infrastructure breakdown of this country.

The Turbines need better upkeep and updated. Just like many of our dames, roads, bridges, & railroads.

This is not anti-wind, this is anti breakdown. There are bladeless wind turbines that can be used http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2013-04/3/bladeless-wind-turbine-ewicon . They also need better care with the upkeep of the turbines till that are replaced by the new technology.

This country is falling apart and people are so divided on everything to see it. So take whatever side you want, because your side taking will not help when it is all gone due to zero REAL upkeep!

But as reports come in, and they will, the upkeep will come into question.

Since the rest of the building there was severely damaged by the tornado, this was from it also.

71. You WANT to know my credentials? I'll give them!
Sun Jun 2, 2013, 02:11 AM
Jun 2013

The city of Joplin come to mind?

That is my credentials. I lost my home, some friends. I lost my two babies, my puppies babies.

My baby sister had to be medevac to Springfield because she, even though not in the direct path, was hurt. She ran out of her place of business, where she was safe to make some neighborhood kids into the restaurant. As she was pushing them throw the door, two little pebbles hit her like bullets from a gun. One scraped her heart, the other embedded in her lung.

I just moved into a nice place not a week before that was 6 blocks away from St. John's Hospital. The first siren went off and we took the dogs and ourselves to the basement. Then some time passes and we hear the second blast. I lived there for 33 years at that point and the second blast was always all clear. Well not this time.

We came out, let the dogs play in the yard. We saw that the electric was out so we could not see the reports. We heard a strange sound like someone was strangling a huge duck. They say it was from the sirens because of s sudden power blast from the power blast due to the tornado ripping out the power lines. I stepped out and saw it. I was a deer in the headlights. My SO was fast enough, and strong enough to pick me up, get back down to the basement, place me behind the washer and dryer (I still have no idea how he moved them so fast).

We came out and saw our new little rental a pill of rubble. That was the start of the nightmares.

So? Happy now. Thanks for making this up to the forefront of my mind for me. I have been fight with it since I saw Moore on the news. But hey, who needs a peace of mind? Or the ability to sleep or eat?

This isn't England, we have no dames, no duchesses, and no princesses...and the pictures you are showing have NOTHING to do with infrastructure falling apart.

What is your agenda, here?

Why are you posting pictures of devastation caused entirely by a tornado and making a false association with infrastructure breakdown?

Wind turbines are just as much part of the American Infrastructure as much as Dames, Roads, Bridges, and Railways.

They do need better upkeep and replacement with newer and better technology.

California Condor. I luuuve it how much you guys discount anything...as long as you get yer morning coffee.

And the best part...there are wind solutions that don't kill bats, or birds and don't have blades.

Why look at that shit? It's anti wind I tell ya!!! If you are Siemens...you are correct..they really don't want you to look at that.

As usual, folks are freaking out about technology they don't understand.

Wind turbines are routinely inspected.

Just because a blade broke off after a tornado hit a wind turbine doesn't mean there is an "infrastructure" problem with wind turbines. It means there is an infrastructure issue with your logic.

You may as well say all homes, hospitals, schools and other buildings destroyed after a tornado hits are all infrastructure problems.

It looks to me like that turbine blade did not go "into" the building, impaling anyone who may have been inside, as the title is suggesting or hoping would have happened.

The title alone is anti-wind energy.

Many are so pro wind that they won't listen to the fact they need to be updates and to mandate better upkeep.

As for the winds/tornado, I wonder if it was a direct hit or not? I remember when some group came to Pittsburg KS about doing a wind farm. They made all kinds of promises that they could stand up to something like 150 mph strait line winds or something like that. But they were doing there best to make people believe that any storm would be nothing to worry about.

That is what making me wonder A LOT about this. Was it a direct hit? Was there promises about strength that were made? What kind of winds are they supposed to handle? list goes on.

What is really amazing, it me, is not that many seem to be thinking of this as a question of our national infrastructure. They seem to look at it as an attack on wind energy. To me, anything to do with the national energy grid is important. Fossil, water, wind, solar, all of it is important to the infrastructure as roads, bridges, dams, and railways. They need upkeep.

But some can not se past their views to see.
Or maybe I am just dumb for looking at it that way.
