Why is "pearl clutching" ok but "cheerleading" forbidden?

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by azurnoir (a host of the General Discussion forum).

I see a lot of rah rah, sis boom bah! With their short skirts and O on the sweater...

Cheerleader/Cheerleading accusations are generally frowned upon at DU but pearl clutching accusations appear to be cool.

without which they'd have no voice at all, pearl clutching, pony wanting, poutrage, hair on fire and chill are very important to them as can be seen by the passionately redundant use of those terms. It's a courtesy extended to those of limited means, like a sliding scale of sorts. Those who can make reasoned arguments do so, those who can not are allowed to say 'chill, stop clutching your pearls, you'll get your pony, why the hair on fire' because otherwise they'd just post that list again and again.

Wannabe censors: fucking up discussion groups and online message boards as long as they've been around.

my world. I've never owned a set of pearls, and their opinions are typically ill-formed, starry-eyed, adulation-wrapped memorized bits that remind me too much of the Bush-whacked set from back in the day. I don't have time for them, or their blind support of things that go against what Democrats are supposed to stand for. They typically wind up with drivel-y pablum like "chess games" and "big pictures."
