CNN: "Zimmerman is Hispanic; Martin was African-American"

Today CNN writes about the George Zimmerman trial and describes him in the 4th paragraph as "Zimmerman is Hispanic; Martin was African-American."

I don't have a problem with this, as it balances out the many people on the Internets who call Zimmerman "white" while getting mad when someone points out he is also half Peruvian, or "Hispanic."

Zimmerman got out of his truck, motivated by his own delusional thoughts, and began hunting down and catching a black hoodlum. It was easy for him as he was armed.

This entire scenario was unprompted by Treyvon who was only walking home.

I don't know all the facts in this case, but know that if Mr. Zimmerman had not gotten out of his vehicle and followed Martin, this discussion would not be taking place.

usually those of Mexican descent, many of whom traditionally have very Hispanic sounding names and complexions. But that isn't necessarily the case.

Google Nestor Kirchner (former Argentine president, deceased) or Shakira (Mebarak Ripoll). Shakira's ancestry is Lebanese, and Kirchner's was European and he doesn't even look Hispanic. Yet both are Hispanic. If you took a trip to South America, especially Brazil, Argentina or Chile, you'd see just how European Hispanics can look and sound.
