(53,475 posts)... a couple years ago. Shorts and sandals were so welcome on our pale bodies. Then we saw the locals in Del Mar with down jackets, ski hats and gloves. Gloves, for crying out loud. I don't wear gloves until it drops below zero.
On the other hand, I remember returning from two years in southeast Asia and absolutely freezing in 35 degree weather. One must acclimate.

(24,905 posts)I remember my Canadian cousins saying they got out the shorts when the temperatures reached the thirties. Never knew if they were kidding or not.
