but neither would meet the age requirement to run for the office of President. After all, it takes time for corruption to set in properly.
Some may object to the above, but it seems that a person is doing something right if his or her actions cause Dick Cheney to label that individual a traitor - this is the honorable reverse of W awarding certain prominent Bush functionaries the "Medal of Freedom (TM) for which they hate us":

Cheney had no kind words for Snowden, whom he forthrightly labelled a traitor. I think he has committed crimes in effect by violating the agreements given the position he had, Cheney said, and went on to question his choice of hideout. Im suspicious because he went to China. Thats not a place where you would ordinarily want to go if you are interested in freedom, liberty and so forth. It raises questions whether or not he had that kind of connection before he did this.

(3,917 posts)maybe we could work on an amendment allowing journalists (like Wikileaks and Assange) to do their work without government hindrance - we could call the resulting freedom something like "freedom of the press".
Then, maybe, after that, with an well-informed populace, we could expect to elect a president who would actually do his job with respect to the law unlike the current one. Snowden and Manning do not seem to fear doing the right thing. President Obama apparently does, however. (Certain torturers and war-criminals still need to be prosecuted.)
President Obama is a well-spoken administrator who when faced with intransigence in the daily operation of the government prefers to compromise on values instead of standing for anything.
At least, neither Manning nor Snowden have a problem in standing for something.
