A truth alert for Republicans.

We had a balanced budget and you blew it.

With your hatred of government and your religious-like worship of military spending and your love for tax cuts, you brought this country to its knees.

Now you refuse to accept responsibility.

You stole an election in 2000 and immediately went to work destroying this nation. The balanced budget was not good for our country. The projected surplus gave the "government" too much money. So, what did you do?

You cut taxes by trillions of dollars and you took us to two wars without paying for any of it. Now you sit on your self-righteous asses and talk about balanced budgets and too much government spending, blah, blah, blah.

The truth of the matter is that we could have paid off the entire national debt by now. We would have had plenty of money to invest for the people, for programs that would make this a better and stronger country. But, in your ideological insanity, that was "bad" for our country. We needed to drown government in a bathtub. You could not see that we, the people, all of us, are the government.

Now you ask us to put you back in control of this same government that you destroyed. Beam me up Scotty.

The Patriot Act, TSA, DHS, and Part D. While babbling about the Constitution, and shipping our jobs overseas. What a Party. Meanwhile the Democratic Party continues to enable them. As long as they can get a few crumbs to toss to voters. Energize!

Should protest about TSA and groping, bodyscanning and strip searches of little old ladies - would strike more of a chord with the general public.
Protest at an airport or 2.

Once Occupy had entered the public consciousness a bit more, with a bit more empathy, it could then move back to it's primary objectives and protest about the banks etc. with more success.

Just a suggestion.
But I think there are better ways of achieving their objectives than current actions, with a bit more thought.
Others will have better ideas than me.

the deficit exploded? I don't remember the Democrats dictating to George W. Bush everything related to spending ... anything with a (D) author, VETOED ... if it even got that far ...

But since 1/3/2011 ... President Boehner has been on every media outlet saying that Senator Obama just isn't co-operating with the Republican mandates.

...and Republicans need to stop running from the truth.

It was the Republicans that demolished the balanced budget of 2000 and ran us so far into debt that there is no easy way out. They did it with trickle down economics and taxcuts for the wealthy and by doubling the defense budget, under the pretense that they were for smaller government.

hanging chads and all..

then came 9/11(allowed to happen by Dumbya and pals) and as a result we got bogged down in two costly, needless wars.

The truth is, the Repukes don't want a balanced budget. They don't want a surplus. What they want is for the rich to keep getting richer and to hell with the little guy. If the Repukes really wanted the country to get on the right track they would end the tax cuts for the wealthy and think about the working poor -- the people who built this country and keep it going. Why any poor person would vote GOP is beyond me.
