Santorum Asks: Is My Sushi Cooked?

no, but your brain is:

• Rick Santorum, his wife, daughter and advisers power-lunching Friday at McCormick & Schmick’s in Tysons Corner. The GOP presidential candidate drank a Guinness beer and ate calamari and quesadillas, then tuna and California rolls — after he was overheard asking whether the sushi was cooked.

"Sushi" means the bite-size bits are prepared with sticky rice mixed with vinegar. The raw fish is called "Sashimi".

among other problems, mrs. unblock's "grilled" salmon was served completely uncooked, so i wouldn't put it past them to cook sushi.

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Leviticus+11%3A9-12&version=KJV

Leviticus 11 9-12
9These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.

10And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:

11They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.

12Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you

So Dick Santorum will use some verses of Leviticus to judge others and yet ignore others.

Given the meaning of his surname, I guess that wouldn't be all that surprising.

Sushi rolls can be made with cooked fish as well as with raw fish. Sashimi is raw fish.
