(13,905 posts)I guess I'm a little out of touch on the latest slang.
I drove a friend's newer VW Beetle and couldn't believe how fast it is. I think it's a turbo. It has unbelievable acceleration.

Oh, and HP is already an established acronym. You can't go around trying to re-use it for other purposes because your fingers don't want to type out Huffington Post. Oh, and the phone police are still looking for you as well
nadinbrzezinski
(154,021 posts)you will get this, insteaad of real news, which I did cover this weekend.
As I said... all that DU wants is that... from me, that is all it gets.
Suffice it to say, yes, we did cover hard news at the Democratic State Convention... but I am NO LONGER INTERESTED in sharing that here. If you want to x-post, knock yourself silly. I won't.
Now back to transcribing Congressman Filner to the Veteran's Caucus... (as soon as my recording gets to it)
But I am done with real news for DU... as in absolutely done.

"Well since the message gate keepers are all over" (Shouldn't there be a comma after "Well" and what are the gate keepers all over? Rocks? Earth? Santorum?
)
Sorry, I was teaching my 2 year old how to float drywall this weekend LOL, no time to play on the intertubes..
So you write for the Huffington Post? Didn't know that, I guess it's better than having a gig at Raw Story LOL...
nadinbrzezinski
(154,021 posts)Suffice it say Van Jones was a fun speech.
I mean that... it was a great speech.
And there were actual hard news, but truly NOT fit for DU... and I mean this, as in important HARD news... you can go to the SItuation Room and read all about it.
snooper2
(30,151 posts)And Van Jones is giving speeches?
At least he'll get those hips a moving and a swinging!!!!!!!!!!!

Whatever... you got your fun, and now all you will get, get your red pen ready, are fun items. Nothing serious.... and I know this is driving you guys even more crazy than usual. The thread proves it.
Crunchy, non filling items, but some of them ARE hysterical in a good way. And I like to laugh from time to time.

(154,021 posts)sorry if I am not going to give them that. ON a serious note, this place has a serious problem with cyber bullies. I have tried to warn the owners about that. One of these days somebody will do something dramatic... perhaps then they will get it. Me... whatever.
But as far as I am concerned, some of these non stories are humorous and break the serious mood...
But yes, we had some REAL HARD CORE NEWS, some of them are pretty national... some of them are pretty local... but they were NEWS nonetheless. But due to a FEW not even in the california state forum, where a couple of them belong... that is how far they have gone.

(20,627 posts)but I wonder how much longer we have left anyway?
SPIDERMAN is soon to be released and we know it is a sign of civilization's imminent collapse.

(27,461 posts)here is the original story, which actually says what happened. To the sites that picked up the story, I ask, if it is an interesting story, why not tell the story?

(39,961 posts)It is kind of a trend that people that knackered on booze and pain pills end up doing ridiculous things. A 20 mph chase only to be halted by a Beetle LOL.
OMG - I didn't even realize she was naked. That was a hell of a night, obviously!
pintobean
(18,101 posts)should be the phrase of the day.
She's lucky she didn't ram a lot more with as many things as she was flying on.
EDIT: Now that I notice she was naked, that seems even more interesting in light of that fact LMAO. Rough night for her!

(10,348 posts)The 1.8 turbo flat goes! And even if the Carter County Sherrif took the thrifty diesel route, they zip right along, compared to the Beetles of yore.
Like our family Bug, Herman - a 1960 36 horse which would go 65 mph WFO

(29,582 posts)Cop cars should have 4 doors so there's a place for any suspects they pick up.
What possible use could they have for a VW Beetle?
Please clarify.
nadinbrzezinski
(154,021 posts)but you can email the department.

(106,210 posts)just like those cop bikes use for the suspects they pick up. If the cops want to fit up a suspect, they make them get on, but don't give them a helmet, and then they give them a ticket.
