Current UK Final Countdown & Current UK To Close In March

http://current.com/items/93662424_current-uk-final-count-down.htm

"Since 2007 Current UK has been giving you independent points of views and some of the best documentaries ever produced.

We brought you the untold stories, unseen faces and unheard voices that the mainstream media didn't dare to touch.

Sadly our time is coming to an end and on the 11th of March 2012 we will stop broadcasting in the UK.

Join us at Current UK as we prepare for closure by celebrating some of our most groundbreaking documentaries."

"Current UK has announced today that BSkyB has withdrawn support for the channel and it is likely to stop broadcasting by mid March 2012.

Obviously the entire team at Current is devastated by this news.

However, we’d like to thank you for your support and belief in independent television. We hope that you will continue to enjoy our unique output until we close and that you will keep in touch with Current US on Current.com once we're gone."

but I can't really see why we had in the first place given the quality of our own current affairs and documentary coverage. I've yet to find anyone here who has any interest in your PBS either.

If you have great current affairs and documentary coverage, more power to you.

As for PBS over here, that's what broadcasts the BBC late at night.

Peace to you,

Didn't even realise I had Current TV as part of my package until today though. I've got a few hundred channels available (mostly dross) and if there's no advertising to highlight shows or series that I might enjoy then I'll never notice the channel amongst the rest of the noise.

It is basically the ONLY Liberal Network there is.. I know MSNBC has some Liberal programming but it is offset by just as much Conservative programming.. Current is PURE Liberal....I Love it and would be extremely saddened if I lost it..
