Remember this day when you read on DU that "there's no difference between Republicans and Democrats". Just remember today.

It was said that 2012 would be a pivotal year when the division between the haves and have-nots would come to a head.
It had been building, allegedly, since 2010, with many revelations necessary for a cleansing, that some might not survive, with people aligning themselves in the years up to 2012. It hasn't stopped, its continuing, as it should.
Not all the revealing was last year and we can see things much more clearly now as to who our allies are. Sad and liberating as always, but it's better to have the truth than maintain illusions of friendship from those who try to sabotage everything one does.
I expect to see more of this. I can't explain it very well. I know that sounds like woo, but I've found it just is.

(10,942 posts)having this discussion because the President would have a strong democratic Congress. But of course, the far left sat at home and Independents got fooled by the republican promise of Jobs, Jobs. Fortunately for the sane, Independents are being jones-ed again heading into the 2014 midterms, there is a fighting chance that President Obama will have a sane Congress to finish out his second term.

(53,661 posts)'I Don't Want Everybody to Vote' -- The Roots of GOP Voter Suppression
Now many of our Christians have what I call the goo-goo syndrome. Good government. They want everybody to vote. I dont want everybody to vote. Elections are not won by a majority of people. They never have been from the beginning of our country, and they are not now. As a matter of fact our leverage in the elections quite candidly goes up as the voting populace goes down. ~ Paul Weyrich, 1980

Sounds like a conspiracy to overturn the rights of millions of Americans.
By co-founder of the Heritage Foundation, involved in the creation of ALEC, the Moral Majority, the Council for National Policy, the Krieble Institute, likely more.
And their plan to end the liberal influence through disenfranchising Democrats and minorites, consistently carried out by ruthless GOP operatives with a religious fanaticism which has never cared about or honored ethics, laws or rules. Which democracy requires.
Why would it, since they hate democracy and see it as evil, want government to serve their interests only and like the Confederacy, do not believe in the most powerful tenet of the Founding Fathers that they worked to create?
Such as the ideal all men are created equal:
As Mankind becomes more liberal, they will be more apt to allow that all those who conduct themselves as worthy members of the community are equally entitled to the protections of civil government. I hope ever to see America among the foremost nations of justice and liberality. ~ George Washington
And we still have people who say there is no difference between the two parties?

(30,439 posts)Oh wait a minute, Obama already appointed two people to the Supreme Court and they are NOTHING like Roberts.
No difference my ass. I'm convinced that most of the people who say there is no difference are actually Republican operatives.

(10,942 posts)operatives who are attempting to lure the weak minded to damage their future and the futures of their children and other people's children. It is a sad and enraging scene to watch. Thank god that Independents aren't being fooled as badly by republicans heading in the 2014 midterm as they were leading in to the 2010 midterm. Strong democrats must come out in 2014 and vote democrats into office with the help of democratic leaning Independents. The President needs a strong democratic Congress, that means a veto proof Senate and a strong majority in the House.

(45,319 posts)I say a day like this lets us know that we don't want to be anything like Republicans, that we should seek to be more different from them each and every day, more vocally, decidedly and unmistakably different from that abject and atavistic Party.
