I think it's high time we banned Drano

Do you know how toxic that stuff is? I mean, if you drink it -- IT WILL KILL YOU!!!

Now, you may be saying "but most Drano users use it responsibly!" but that's irrelevant. What IS relevant, is that this stuff is dangerous.

While we're at it, we should also ban any products with chlorine and any products with ammonia. Do you know what happens if you mix those two chemicals? You get a crude form of Mustard Gas!!!!

Of course, since there may be a need, we should set up a board of Chemical Experts who will grill you for hours should you choose to buy one of these. Only when you get their permission, can you buy some. And it will be regulated, oh boy will it be! In fact, every time you get their permission, you have to do a toxicity screen to make sure you don't have any of this in you. And when you're done, you have to return the unused portion back to the chemical center.

We should eventually roll out this plan for all toxic chemicals, including alcohol and Di-hydrogen Monoxide...

On Edit: Oh I guess I have to put this in here:

It contains lye, which is used ingredient in methamphitamine production. Drano hard to come by for the same reason one has to sign their life away to get a box of Sudafed. Thank the meth makers for that.

Of course if we just legalized everything, and Abbott Labs could sell meth OTC, we could cut the health risks associated with meth in half, and completely decimate the violence.

For the most part I agree with you wholeheartedly. Although, meth is different from all the others. It is a truly vile drug, and doesn't addict people the way other drugs do. Having Abbot Labs making and selling it OTC will definitely cut down all the violence. But, the only health risks it will cut substantially will be the ones related to the explosive nature of current production methods. I suppose if they made it "less pure", the addictive properties would lessen. But, I'm not sure the risks of getting "meth mouth" and other effects will be reduced. I certainly don't have all the answers to this one. But, I certainly DO agree that his idiotic "war on drugs" is only making things worse.

Oh, please don't give them a flea dip or spray with chemicals. I had 2 cats that almost died from that, at the VET. Sprinkle a bit of brewers yeast in their food. Fleas will not go anyway near them if that is in their bloodstream.

It works much the same as garlic for humans and mosquitos. If you have to be in an area with mosquitos, try to eat a lot of GARLIC before you go outside. They will not bite. Vampires and mosquitos??????

My Old and Old World Grandma had a whole lot of these "remedies". They do actually WORK.

I believe the regulation to any degree of any dangerous substance or object in the post-modern age is predicated on a social and cultural cost/benefit measurement (e.g., emissions vs. transportation of goods, services and people via the modern automobile-- there is an absolute disadvantage to it, along with an absolute advantage, hence we as a culture weigh the one against the other )

Many of those measurements are indeed in question due to the (by definition) subjective nature of the social contract, and many of those measurements are indeed being debated-- even n the here and now (and we often, in this case, confuse debate with consensus), but for the most part, simply allowing or denying a thing in and of itself is done by accident-- all others are inspected by, and then either accepted or rejected (often after a long period-- which frustrates those with a lack of patience to no end) by the culture in question.

I imagine many side of many debates overlook this bit of cultural anthropology 101, while still others simply refer to it as a Culture War...
