President Obama & Secretary Clinton Called as Witnesses for Bradley Manning by Matt Gratz

President Obama & Secretary Clinton Called as Witnesses for Bradley Manning
by Matt Gratz

After President Obama told members of the "Fresh Juice Party" that Bradley Manning "broke the law" earlier this year at one of his high priced fundraiser events in San Francisco, the imprisoned soldier is now demanding that the President as well as the Secretary of State Hillary Clinton testify as witnesses at his preliminary hearing set to begin next week.

Manning's defense lawyer, David E. Coombs listed the Commander-in-chief and Secretary of State, among many other officials, as witnesses on Friday in a 20-page witness list posted online for the public to view. The names have since been censored. The preliminary hearing termed Article 32 is scheduled to begin on Dec. 16th at Fort Meade, MD and is to determine whether or not Manning's case should be considered for a full-scale court martial.
The defense request states that the comments the President made to protesters at his SF political fundraiser earlier this year, that Manning broke the law, amounts to "unlawful command influence" because the President acts as the commander-in-chief of the United States armed forces. Apparently the President forgot that in America, suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty, not the other way around.

proven guilty". Now by President Obama saying what he did... it did taint that principle rule our laws our founded upon.

Humble opinion. This kid got railroaded since day one. His accuser is a witness that's story has a bunch of holes in it. Manning himself is such a low man on the totem pole how the freak does he have access to the documents he "Stoled" AND this is just a way to Fry the "Big Fish" Julian Assange.

I personally am ashamed this is being done in my name.

If it can be established that he knowingly released government documents without permission he should be held accountable for his acts.

What concerns me more than the acts of this young man is how he could have access to such a volume of highly classified documents. There is something wrong with a system that doesn't treat those documents on an "need to know" basis and, based on my understanding of his job, he didn't need access to the massive amount of data he is then accused of having leaked.

Obama should be ashamed for saying he broke the law, especially for someone who has taught constitutional law. He would be justified in saying that the young man, allegedly broke the law but that due process will determine his guilt or innocence. Given he has been held in solitary confinement I would say he has not gotten due process and for that Attorney General Holder should be fired.

You think Colonels and Generals sit at terminals doing that? No, its lower level enlisted people, supervised by senior enlisted people, themselves supervised by junior and mid level officers.
