(2,022 posts)An innocent child was killed by some fool with a gun, and you think this is some kinda game

(113,378 posts)To make so light of the death of a young unarmed, innocent teen and those seeking justice--
The poster in question may sincerely hold these views, for which I am repulsed, but necessarily accepting; but, if they are being sent here to disrupt, I hope it catches up with them.

I couldn't agree with you more.

(241 posts)But guess what? A man is on trial for his life, all because people who can't accept facts push for a witch hunt. This is a tragedy all around because of a jackass with a gun. But nobody wants to talk about that aspect of it. It's all about putting Zimmerman in prison for the rest of his life to satisfy some twisted revenge fantasy.
Who are the ones who are treating this like some kind of game?

(26,877 posts)He pursued someone because of how he looked - i.e. he profiled Trayvon - against the advice of the law enforcement professional he was speaking to on the phone. Had he followed the advice of the law enforcement professional, he would NOT be on trial today and Trayvon Martin would be alive.
He pursued Travon with malice, as per the telephone conversation he had with the law enforcement professional. And he killed him.
THAT is why he has been charged with 2nd degree murder.

(2,347 posts)Two, unless there's some weirdness in FL law, they can still let the jury find him guilty of manslaughter, which is what I have all along thought the prosecutor was really after. They just made it 2nd degree murder because you always go into a negotiation with your max position, not the one you want to end up with.

(27,275 posts)the other person, the armed one, is alive, and telling a tale that a lot of people don't buy.

(17,742 posts)This eyewitness came outside WHILE the fight was ongoing, made his presence known by telling them to "cut it out" or something, and SAID HE WAS CALLING 911.
At that point, GZ KNOWS the police are on their way, both from his own call and now this neighbor. And yet, he STILL shoots the kid.
I think this is devastating testimony for the defense, whether they realize it yet or not.
ETA: I'll go further, much further, and state that I thing GZ pulled the gun out and shot TM precisely BECAUSE he knew the police were on their way and he had to act fast if he didn't "want this one to get away." And by "get away" I mean "get away alive."
I hope the prosecution really nails this point home in closing.

(17,742 posts)and if someone is "going to kill you" usually knowing that the police have been called, that USUALLY will stop the effort.
Unless you are GZ, in which case it just accelerates the murder, so it cannot be prevented.
That's how I see it.
He said, "'It looked like a tussle," Good said. "I could only see one person. At one point, I yelled out, 'What's going on? Stop it,' I believe.
He then went back into the house and called 911 then hearing the shot.
Duer 157099
(17,742 posts)Which means, GZ knew Good saw what was happening. Which also should impeach GZ's testimony about "I cried for help and nobody came." Good's testimony was that GZ ONLY STARTED calling for help AFTER he made his presence known.

(2,068 posts)TRANSCRIPT: So I open my door. It was a black man with a black hoodie on top of the other, either a white guy or now I found out I think it was a Hispanic guy with a red sweatshirt on the ground yelling out help!

Killing unarmed kids better get a murder rap. Zimmerman should have kept his profiling ass in his car.

(1,788 posts)An his only crime was walking home, in the rain at 7:00 at night. He was talking on the phone, carrying snacks. A kid died.
Thing I find funny about that dude's testimony is that, I think it was stated, that every time he gave a statement, he turned up the language...the punching got more violent-MMA. When Trayvon Martin's friend testimony "changed" (she added "get off" I think) everyone jumped all over her ass....Why?
And again, A KID DIED!!!!!
