Danziger Toon: Voting Rights

Sums up the attitude of all too many folks I run into down here in Savannah...

1. The corporate megalomaniacs--

who've usurped our media, our politics, AND our global economy--are pulling out all the stops to succor racial, political, and religious discord among those of us living paycheck to paycheck. "Oh, look, Kim's having a baby!" -- thus are we distracted yet again.

[Enthusiast]

2. It is becoming all too obvious. Then, you know what comes next.

The Fascist realization.

"The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it's profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater." 3. I fully believe

they are in that process already, but the cognitive dissonance avoidance is strong in most folks.

4. I always ask myself, "What kind of a country do these people want to live in?"

I would remind them to, "Be careful what you wish for." And, often, "Less is more."

They already have the golden egg laying goose but it just isn't enough.

5. In myriad ways,

we have been and are being coaxed to believe that corporate entities and our government are acting in our best interests. That most politicians and corporate megalomaniacs patronize the Hoi Polloi (as though we lack the intellect to make the "hard decisions&quot has become normative.
